Doors.NET™ Recommended PC and Operating
System Configuration

Doors.NET Recommended PC Configuration

This article provides recommended PC hardware requirements to ensure acceptable software system operation in standard and advanced access control applications using Doors.NET.

Access control applications with large numbers of controllers and/or cardholders should always consider upgrading from the minimum recommendation. Operating System compatibility is listed in section 2.

Note: PC capability, cost, and accessibility is constantly changing. This document provides Keri's recommendations, but is subject to change as PC hardware changes.

Generic PC Requirements

• Ethernet Adapter

• Keyboard, Mouse, Display

• USB Port(s)

Server PC or Combined Server/Client PC (Typical System)

PC Requirements for Doors.NET Series 4 Software

If your system does not meet these requirements you must use Series 3
software (v3.5.1.22 sp1) - see section 3.0.

Operating System Compatibility Table

Previous versions of Doors.NET used .NET Framework v3.5. With the release of Doors.NET series 4 software, Keri is now using .NET Framework v4.6.2 and SQL Express 2016. This allows our software to take advantage of the power, functionality, and speed provided by the current .NET Framework revision, and also reduces software installation/upgrade time.

However, it also brings limitations, set by Microsoft, for series 4 and 5 software installation:

If you do not know the type of microprocessor/operating system your PC uses, you can find this information by running Microsoft’s System Information utility. This utility is a part of your operating system. The microprocessor type is found under System Summary > System Type. Your System Type will be listed as either "x64-based PC" for 64-bit microprocessors or "x86-based PC" for 32-bit microprocessors.

The following table lists Windows operating systems that are compatible with Doors.NET series 4 and 5 software:
